Dow Chemical, which recently announced plans to buy a chemical company in an attempt to bolster its operations in the chemical sector, is now planning to purchase the CIGANO Corporation, the company that specializes in making carbon compounds, the chemical industry’s most valuable commodity.CIGANo was founded in 1986 and employs over 10,000 people across the U.S. and Canada.
Its products include carbon dioxide, nitric oxide, carbon dioxide fertilizers, ammonia, ammonium compounds and hydrocarbons.
The company also manufactures and markets a wide range of chemical products for the pharmaceutical and food industries.
In a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission last week, Dow Chemical outlined the plans to acquire CIGANA for $7.4 billion.
CIGana is one of the largest chemical companies in the U
